4th of July 2012

4th of July 2012 in a nutshell:

• An 8am parade/breakfast that we thought was our ward's celebration, but turned out not to be... which we realized as we started looking around (while we were waiting for breakfast) and it dawned on us that we didn't know a single soul... which is bad even for us anti-social people... so we snuck out and went home to have breakfast.
• Another 9:15am parade... which started right outside our front door and included a fire truck, police car, train, lots of cute kids on decked out bikes/trikes/wagons, cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn! WOW. This neighborhood definitely knows how to celebrate the 4th in STYLE.
• R e l a x i n g. Of course. Watching the Incredibles (which included Jackson bossing Mark and I around on where to sit and trying to convince us that we could ALL fit on the couch together... laying down... ) and naps (unfortunately none by the people who wanted them the most :))
• A picnic at Sugarhouse park of chicken, fruit salad, potato salad, chips and cookies. Yum. Lots of playing and an amazing firework display.
• I so {love} the 4th of July!
